The party season is nearly upon us, so it comes as no surprise that sequinned dresses are back with a vengeance.
In my humble opinion, sequinned dresses look a bi out of place during the summer months, even for a night out.
When it comes to hitting all those Christmas parties though, there are few better outfit choices than a sequinned dress, and these days you can find them in all sorts of colours, styles and lengths.
ASOS have some fab little sequinned dresses in at the moment, many of which are under £30 and therefore a complete bargain- grab one before everyone else does!
Lace dresses have been doing the rounds for a couple of years now, and I can safely say that I’ve never succombed to buying one.
When lace dresses first hit the High Street, EVERYONE was wearing them, and if there’s one thing which I refuse to do when I’m on a night out, it’s blend in with the crowd.
Even though there are now various different types of lace dresses around, I think they look really dated, and no matter how many times ASOS try and shove their new lace additions under my nose, I refuse to give in!!
So, from my point of view, lace dresses are a serious NAY!
Amy Childs is emerging as the success story of TOWIE, and not content with breaking away from the show that made her to star in Celebrity Big Brother, she’s now gone and launched her own clothing collection.
It seems the Essex look is a really popular one too, as shortly after going live, Amy’s website went into complete meltdown and crashed. Who would’ve thought it?!
Unlike some other celebrity clothing lines (mentioning no names, Victoria Beckham) Amy’s pieces are really affordable, so fans of Ms Childs can grab a slice of her style without giving the credit card a hammering.
Now all fans need to do is invest in the obligatory orange tan…or not!!
Every single autumn, I find myself facing the same nightmare- trying to find knee boots which fit!
Every single pair of boots which I try on (and I’m not exagerating here) looks like I’m wearing wellies and they just look absolutely ridiculous!
Although some boots do look a bit better when my skinny jeans are tucked into them, they still look stupidly big, and since I want boots which I can wear with skirts and shorts, it’s just not good enough!!!
I really don’t understand why boots don’t come in different leg widths- it’s discrimination if you ask me (and don’t tell me to put some meat on my bones either!)
I think I speak for most women when I say that jeans are one of the most frequently worn items in my wardrobe. I mean, there are few other items of clothing which look just as good on the dance floor as they do for a trip to the local shops- and things just got better!
Coloured jeans are all the rage this season, and the brill news is that they are just as versatile as their navy counterparts.
Jeans in colourful red, greens, yellows- in fact in just every colour imaginable- can be found in the shops at the minute, and wherever you plan to wear them they’re guaranteed to look great.
Maxi skirts have been around for a few seasons now, and even though I’m surgically attached to my body con mini dresses, I’ve tried out the trend a couple of times.
This season’s maxi skirts are a little different though- they’re see through. Ok, so they’re not totally see through as most have a little block panel at the top, but I’m still not sure of them.
I don’t quite get where you’d wear these skirts as they’re a bit revealing for the day (and they definitely won’t be ideal once the temperatures start to drop) yet they’re not dressy enough for the evening in my opinion.
I think I’ll pass…
This summer, my little crochet crop tops and waist coats have had some serious wear, and I’m glad to see that I won’t have to give the trend up completely just because autumn is about to arrive.
There are some brill autumn variations of one of summer 2011′s hottest styles around at the moment- I’m loving the slouchy crochet jumpers and fitted cardi’s.
I for one will definitely be carrying on with the crochet for a few more months yet- I’m thinking a crochet top, plain leggings or jeans topped of with a nice pair of knee high boots (I’ll be investing in a new pair of these of course!)
The nights might be starting to get darker and the temperatures might start to drop now (not that we’ve had much of a summer anyway) but this is definitely my favourite time of year when it comes to fashion.
In the summer, it’s all about flashing the flesh (whether you want to or not when it’s scorching) and in the winter it’s more about keeping warm and not catching a cold rather than looking super stylish.
Autumn is slap bang in the middle though and I love it! With autumn fashions you’ve got loads of choice when it comes to layering, and there are some fab fashions already in the shops.
One of the best things about birthdays and Christmas is that relatives often give you cash in place of a gift, which you can then save up and go on a mega shopping spree. The same happens when you get an unexpected windfall, or you win a cash prize from somewhere.
Not only are these kinds of shopping sprees perfect for updating your wardrobe but they’re also completely guilt-free, as you don’t have to dip into your savings nor spend your hard-earned cash.
One of the most fun and exciting ways to fund a huge shopping trip is online bingo, where you can play, chat and win huge jackpot amounts! The best site for fashion fans to make a beeline for is posh bingo, as its promotions are often geared towards sexy, sophisticated ladies who like cash, clothes and loads of free stuff.
Although you can check out other sites on ohmybingo.com, right now at posh bingo there are a number of exciting promotions on, such as £3k L.A. where you can win £2,500 in vouchers to spend on your dream holiday, as well as £500 in spending money!
There’s also £500 Al Fresco Fun, the Free £25,000 Joy Pot and the £1k Honey Trap, as well as Posh Swag – where there are digital cameras, Nintendo Wii’s and lastminute.com vouchers to be won!
Spring weather can play havoc with a girl’s wardrobe- it’s far too cold to step outside in your skimpy summer wear, yet a bit too warm to stay wrapped up in your thick winter woolies.
Feeling too hot and too cold can be equally as bad, so this means putting even more thought into your choice of outfit.
At this time of year, I find that layering usually works best i.e. teaming a vest top with a cardi. Jeans and leggings are both fab for when the weather’s still making it’s mind up too.
Whatever the weather though, there’s no excuse for letting your style crown slip!!
